Buyer's Guide

Blast Zone bounce houses are vastly becoming a party tradition. These bounce houses have emerged as fun and safe alternatives to trampolines. You will see them in the backyard, in the garage and at inflatable fun centers. Choosing the bounce house that is right for you is ultimately your preference and decision. Blast Zone promises exceptional quality and service to make you more than happy with your bounce house or water park. You will find in this Blast Zone Buying Guide what to look for when purchasing an inflatable and how bouncers and water parks work.

How do Bounce Houses Work?
Continuous Airflow is the category most quality bouncers and water parks fall under. This category means that an air blower continuously pumps air into the water park or bounce house while the inflatable is in use. Air will escape through the small pores and seams to remain continuous. It is normal to see bubbles in water slides and water parks and also normal to hear air “breathing” out of the inflatable. As mentioned, this is normal and there is no need to be concerned. There have been a number of recalls because of low-cost knock offs, so please watch out for these knock offs when searching for an inflatable. You must also have power readily accessible because the blowers require power in order to inflate the bouncer. If there is no power available, a generator can be used to run the blower.

There are two types of inflatables within the continuous airflow category: Residential Grade Inflatables and Commercial Grade Inflatables.

Bounce House Features
You will find many different styles and themes for bouncers, however they all come down to a few main features
  • Bounce Floors! - This is the most important feature when purchasing a bouncer. The inflatable should be large enough to accommodate all your children, and tough enough for the intended use. For big bouncing parties, we recommend the Superstar Party Moonwalk. If you have older or heavier children, the Play Palace has a commercial grade floor.
  • Slides! - Slides are the second most common feature. Most bouncers only include slides for safety or aesthetic purposes. We recommend the Misty Kingdom Bounce House if you want something large enough for children to actually slide down.
  • Water! - We continuously see inflatable water slides and toys winning awards because they keep children occupied and cool during the warm summer months. The Crocodile Isle is very popular and an awesome water park. The Rainforest Rapids Amusement Park can be used wet or dry. While bouncers can be used year-round, water-only inflatable’s can be used 6-10 months out of a year; depending on your location.
  • Combo Units, Slide and Bounce! – Please look under our Blast Zone Combo Category for our units that have dual features: Bounce Floor and Water Slide.Blast Zone Combo Category.
Now that you’ve considered your features, let’s learn more about the inflatable types available.

Types of Inflatables

Residential inflatables primary material is woven oxford cloth. The woven cloth weighs as little as 30 lbs making it much lighter than similar cloths. With numerous types of oxford material, Blast Zone only uses an exclusive X Weave Oxford, which has very high burst strength. Using a unique arrangement of the threads, the material holds up for much longer periods of time and it will not run like cheaper oxford materials. Stitching, material quality and weaving are the most important criteria with oxford bouncers. Stay away from inflatables that are not doubled stitched with commercial stitching. Make sure to always buy from a reputable company.

To further reinforce the strength, all Blast Zone inflatables are double and quadruple stitched. All seams on the bouncers and water parks are applied with “over stitching”. This method further strengthens the seam because the area where material is sewn together has another strip of material sewn over the seam.

Blast Zone residential inflatables are much easier to set up and take down because of their lighter weight. This comes in handy when transporting. If properly cared for, your residential inflatable will last for years and start only at $189. Please remember that residential bouncers are not recommended for rental and/or commercial use.

Commercial Inflatables are designed for continuous use scenarios and are made of PVC tarpaulin material. Rental businesses, churches, day care, and recreation centers typically use these bounce houses, water parks and slides. Commercial inflatables can be used for residential purposes also; however they are very heavy and typically weigh well over 150 lbs for a small unit. Commercial units are also very expensive, ranging from over $1,000 to $20,000.

Both PVC and oxford materials are used with Blast Zone Bounce Houses and Water Parks. Oxford cloth makes up the “non-stress” areas, keeping the inflatable strong and lightweight. PVC commercial grade materials hold up to the components that get pounced on, bounced on, yanked on, jumped on and pulled on.

Why I Want to Buy a Bounce House

Bounce Houses are everywhere! You see bounce houses everywhere! Driving through your neighborhood on any given weekend, you are sure to see a rented jumper in someone’s front yard. Paying for rentals can add up quickly and be cumbersome. Consider purchasing a bounce house if you think your children will use it more than once, or if you continuously rent an inflatable.

It’s time to consider purchasing a home use inflatable if you love providing your children with bounce house fun, but are tired of renting hassles.

Quality jump houses can provide continuous fun and safe play for children. Home use inflatables are quickly emerging as an alternative to inconvenient rentals, which can be costly. Inflatables can now be manufactured for moderate home use because of the introduction of new forms of materials. These home inflatables are at prices 80% lower than commercial inflatables.

About Blast Zone! Most of Blast Zone’s inflatables ship directly to your front door via FedEx or UPS. Each unit includes a UL approved blower, bouncer or water park, carrying case and easy set up instructions.

Blast Zone bouncers are easy to set up: Simply unroll the bouncer, attach and turn on the blower, stake the inflatable down and jump away! Taking down the unit is just as easy.

The mission of Blast Zone inflatables is Simple: Provide Fun, Safe products at affordable prices. We utilize commercial materials in stress points in our inflatable products to ensure a long product life. Our engineers evaluate every item for safety, and integrate any safety measures possible. We do not use unsafe climbing surfaces or slide heights, while we integrate heavy duty safety netting wherever needed. Our inflatables are balanced and durable.
